- Summer 2012 Accessory Trend Alert
The 2012 summer jewelry trends are mixed and include a vast blend of styles; there is sure to be something for everyone. I love the array we’re seeing this year – you’ll notice both past trends revamped as well as fresh, new visions for us to pine over!
Tribal Truth – Not only are we seeing hints at animal motifs and tribal patterns, but neutral, more muted shades in general are showing up. It’s a very ethnic feel. True to form, leather & suede jewelry is prominent.
Wrist Love – From bangles to cuffs and everything in between, big, bold bracelets are everywhere. But don’t get rid of your skinny mini’s yet…Make daintier bracelets compliant by layering and/or stacking. Bigger is better! Layer it on, ladies (and gents!) ♥
Hair Jewelry – Reminiscent of the Jazz Age, hair jewelry is everywhere. Feathers, netting, pearls, crystals, scarves, crocheted flowers….you name it. Hair embellishments are no longer just for weddings & costume parties.
Bold Rings have carried over from 2011 – And aren’t you glad? I know I am! Collections of varying goods are all the rage right now. Rings bearing crystals, pearls, stones, metals, and beads are blanketing every finger!

Pearls – Last, but certainly not least…Pearls exude classicism and although the classic pearl has extreme clout in this evolving trend, jewelry designers have completely re-vamped & modernized them as well. Again, layering can be the key to success. And pearls too, are being combined with other materials – metals, stone, leather & crystal in particular. And, hey! Did you know that dying freshwater pearls doesn’t diminish the value? Bring on the colored pearls!
